Dr. Scott’s Story

My journey to Chiropractic has been an unconventional one. There’s a saying we have in Chiropractic that is a bit cliché, but when I say it, I know it’s true. "I didn’t choose chiropractic, it chose me.” In 2014, as an undergrad I had won scholarships to go study Mandarin in China for a year. In preparation to travel abroad, I had a series of vaccinations which lead to an injury. Shortly after the injury, I experienced stabbing feet pain, burning pain all over my body and eventually wound up bound to a wheelchair for almost 8 months. While being passed from one doctor to the next, my health was declining rapidly. The pain intensity increased and I found myself powerless over my own body. I ended up on an enormous amount of pain killers and medications with no hope in sight.

At that time a family friend had heard about what I was going through and she had recommended I go see this chiropractor she knew. Dr. Jennifer Padrta took me in to her practice with open arms. Over the course of 30 days, she adjusted me every morning. She put me on a supplement protocol for the damage that had been done. I spent every day in a hot tub kicking my legs to build up muscles in my legs that had atrophied. After not being able to walk for over 7 months, on the TWENTY FIRST DAY of being adjusted I got out of my wheelchair and walked into her office. That was my first big win and Chiropractic moment.

I was walking, but not for long periods of time and I still had pain in my legs and feet. Over the course of a year, I sought answers with lab testing and blood work, wondering why the injury had occurred. After a year I finally got an answer. The tests showed that the vaccines had triggered an autoimmune condition called Mastocytosis. It’s a debilitating disease and I was looking at living with it the rest of my life.

I quit my job, ended my lease at the apartment I was living in and prepared to live with my family the rest of my life. However, Dr. Jen saw something in me. She encouraged me to go to chiropractic school. I would tell her, “How am I supposed to be a Chiropractor? I can’t even stand for longer than 10 minutes?” She repeatedly told me that my body had the ability to heal itself and never once gave up on pushing me to keep fighting. After much mental anguish one day I found my sense of hope and the desire to keep fighting. I flew to Life Chiropractic College West, near San Francisco, for a Life Champions weekend to see the college. My feet hurt so bad I never made it to the classrooms or toured campus. I wound up in admissions with my feet curled in they hurt so bad. While I was there as the staff listened to my story they matriculated my transcripts into the program and before I knew it I had a letter of acceptance to start in the Summer 2017.

When I got back home, I canceled all my scheduled medical appointments, including one I had with a medical doctor in Virgina that manages people with Mastocytosis and I told them I was going to Chiropractic school instead. I left without their approval. I was now in chiropractic school struggling with my memory and walking from class to class. I approached 15 doctors that turned me away and said that they couldn’t help. Then I found a home in the office of Dr. Liz Dobbins in Oakland, a Network Spinal practitioner. I didn’t understand the technique at the time, but I was willing to try anythhing. Dr. Liz didn’t hesitate to take me on as a patient.

I relate the experience to drowning, Dr. Jen jumped in first and grabbed me, pulled to shore and Dr. Liz hit me with the defibrillator and brought me back to life. Within the first 6 weeks my body went through some of the most intense restructuring and healing I had ever experienced.  I went from struggling to walk to class to running 6 miles on the treadmill. That was my next big win and Chiropractic moment.

I had regained faith in my body again.  In combination with the Chiropractic care I was receiving I added in parasite cleanses, heavy metal flushes, and acupuncture. I kept pushing until my pain completely resolved. It was BioGeometric Integration that would inevitably finish reversing the damage and pain of vaccine injury. I finally had my life back.

I am now a Doctor of Chiropractic. Through my own healing journey, I became a practitioner in one of the greatest professions on the planet. I had many good people come to my aid and help support me along the way. I hope now I can pay forward some of that same love and care that I got when I needed it the most. If my story can help save just one person from ever going through what I went through, it will have all been worth it. Thankyou for taking the time to read my story and for getting to me and my chiropractic journey.
